Ben's First Week!

By now you all know Ben was born on Thursday, February 19th, 2009. I made it to my official c-section date thanks to bed rest. Our Benjamin Douglas was 9 lbs 11 ounces and 20 inches long. He has the thickest, softest, most beautiful, black hair. He is a good baby and loves to eat, eat, eat. He gets up every 2 hours about at night and eats 2-3 ounces per feeding. He makes the cutest noises and faces. I love how he laughs and smiles in his sleep. I love how he sings when he is content or happy to have a bottle. Am I bragging too much about how cute my boy is? I am so in love with him! Ella loves him too. She gives him tons of kisses everyday and loves to hold him. My mom is here for 10 days and has really been a huge help. She cleans, does the laundry, cleans some more, makes us cookies, cleans some more, and loves to help with Ben. She usually takes the 2 am feeding and allows me to nap during the day. Ben loves her. We call her "the baby whisperer." She has always been able to calm down any baby and makes us so comfortable when we don't know what to do or over react about something. My mom now has me hooked on "The Biggest Loser," one show I did not watch or need to add to my list. Mom will be missed when she leaves but we know she will need to rest from all the help she has given us. It has been a good first week. I'm recovering faster than with Ella, but know I will be tired when I'm on my own next week. I haven't even played one game of Pac-Man this week. Ella has gone to Kathy's a few days this week and will continue to go a few days every week.

Thursday is getting closer~

I went to my last doctor's appointment today. I made it!! My doctor said he is proud of me. I could not have made it this long without the best rest. I couldn't imagine still teaching at this point. My c-section was moved back 2 hours to 9:00am on Thursday. The good thing is I get to sleep in 2 more hours. But I can't eat anything so I'm afraid I will be starving by 9:00. I laughed and told the Dr. "Now watch, he'll come tomorrow." Now I want him to stay in until Thursday when it's all planned. Did I ever tell you that Kemps Rocky Road ice cream is the best in the world? Just a random side note. My mom can't wait to come here on Saturday and get Kemps ice cream. Try it--you won't be disappointed. Today I guessed the baby will be 8 pounds 4 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long. Any guesses?
I just broke my all time record on Pac-Man. I hit over 70,000 and to level 10. My 2nd place score is only 34, 000. WOW!! I'm turning OCD on Pac-Man.

Still waiting~

I'm still waiting for Thursday to get here. I told my Dr. when we made the c-section date back around Christmas, "It will be a miracle if this baby makes it until Feb. 19th." I guess it will be a miracle. I missed out on one of my favorite weekends of the year, KVSC 50 hours of trivia. I did not even go for an hour and it was in my room at school. I listened a lot and cheered my team on from home. They took 2nd place out of 70+ teams. Way to go team!! Today Ella and Daddy are running to the store for me. I made my grocery list for Trevor by sections of the store so he can find things easier. I am tired of playing Pac-Man on my computer and checking my e-mail (and never getting new e-mails). I hope Thursday comes fast!

Waiting!

I am officially on bed rest until the baby comes. I had an amnio yesterday and the lungs are mature. We could have the c-section tomorrow but decided to wait until he is ready to come or until the 19th when our original c-section is scheduled. So I'm home and my feet are up. I'm bored already 1 hour into this.

Pretty in Purple:

By now you know Ella loves to dress up. She changes her outfit at least three times each night. On Sunday she came out wearing a dress up skirt as a dress. She makes Trevor and I nervous sometimes with how much she like wearing very little, or no clothing. And she is not camera shy at all! Can't you tell? "Mommy, take another one." Then she says "let me see." It is just funny to see some of the outfits she puts together.

Update!

I had an ultra sound yesterday, sorry no pictures. He's too big for pictures. I saw him sucking his thumb though. He is weighing around 7 pounds 12 ounces according to the ultra sound (which can be off by a pound). I'm 36 1/2 weeks. Ella came at this time and weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces. Trevor is all for him staying in until 19th so he's guaranteed healthy. I go to the doctor tomorrow, and if there is anything exciting to report, I'll let you all know.
